The architectural project "Family Oasis" is a visionary endeavor that integrates the concepts of family, education, culture, and climate into its design, specifically tailored to the rural context in the south of Senegal. Drawing inspiration from the local materials and architectural vernacular, this project aims to create a sustainable and nurturing environment for families while addressing the pressing issue of education.
The choice of materials plays a crucial role in the design. Emphasizing the use of locally sourced materials, the project not only celebrates the cultural heritage of Senegal but also promotes sustainability and reduces environmental impact. These materials are readily available in the region, ensuring easy sourcing and contributing to the local economy.
The Family Center design recognizes the significance of a shared space that brings family members together. Located at the core of the structure, this central area acts as a gathering point, encouraging communication, bonding, and the exchange of ideas. It is designed to accommodate a range of activities, from communal meals and celebrations to educational workshops and recreational pursuits.
